Dear God, Serial Killers….Monster’s on the Prowl

Dear God,

I feel like I am almost a dust particle in this great big world sometimes. I know that You are privy to each and every thought that crosses my mind, as well as the all-knowing God, who is aware of every single hair that is upon my head. I also know that this world is a massive part of the universe in man’s perspective, but miniscule to the galaxy.

It is with these thoughts that I become hyper aware of just how much evil can invade one’s living quarters. If we were to put it into mathematical equivalencies, and we have, it evokes a sense of horror within our souls. We are living among some of the most violent and criminally belligerent serial killers of all time. We are tracking them through the means of profilers, and analysts that are collecting data that shows where and when these monsters are attacking their victims. The sad part of this dilemma, is that they are everywhere. There is no state, no country, no island, that provide an escape from the demented minds of those who want to devour their prey.

I am keenly aware that today’s population has a greater understanding of this, mostly due to television, and movies. They portray men, and occasionally women, who believe that they are somehow unjustly mocked by either an event to their past, or a traumatic, more recent event. This triggers a response in them to find a victim that must suffer, because they are suffering. Usually an innocent, quite undeserving bystander, who has no idea what is lurking behind the shadows, lying in wait for the attack. This is a scenario with deadly repercussions.

It is also being studied that, not only is man becoming a more predatory killer, but the beast that roam the land and the waters as well. In criminal profiling, mathematical equations are used to determine where the attacks are more likely to occur and at what time a victim is more likely to be captured or blitzed.  Scientist are using monitoring satellite systems of research to track great white sharks. They can determine where they are swimming, where they feed, how deep they swim, and where they prowl for their victims. This is giving man a greater understand of how our world is changing. Even if the population of great white sharks are not increasing in numbers on our coastlines, we are seeing more attacks being documented. We are able to determine where and when killers prey on others,and attack their victims.  Therefore, we are becoming more informed in an attempt to prevent those horrific events. We must understand that we are increasing in knowledge, and that is exactly what the prophets predicted, when they were inspired by Your words to scribe in the bible.

This is mind-blowing to those of us who live our lives in such a seemingly calm and boring lifestyle. But, we  must be aware that there are monsters that live among us, and eventually we are all possible prey.  For those who live a lifestyle that puts them at a greater risk factor than others, they must be aware that they could fall victim, much easier, and possibly more often, by being in the vacinty of a killer’s potential target range. It has been determined that those who frequent bars, and clubs, are more likely to be attacked and harmed physically, than those who are family oriented, and spend more of their hours at home or the office. I am intrigued by those who believe that they can never be effected by such monsters. They are so naive that they could never be persuaded by another to fall victim to an attack. We could ask those whom believed that same perception, but unfortunately, most are no longer with us.

I am the most concerned about a serial killer who has been roaming the earth and searching for his potential victims since the beginning of time. He has no conscience. He has no remorse. He has no regret for the lives that he has destroyed and for the remaining families who have to live with his deadly games of life and death. Satan has the ability to turn our lives into a literal nightmare in grand proportions. We are so unaware of him at times, that we allow his trickery to deceive us into making such poor decisions, that we fall into victim mode before we even realize what hit us. Just like Jack the Ripper, who performed blitz attacks on his prey. This monster must have had such an intellectual bond with Your evil enemy. The seemingly innocent looking, Ted Bundy, who charmed women into following him anywhere. We must remember that a similar stalker is out still walking among us, without our ability to see him as a dangerous threat either.

God, I have such a difficult time trying to understand why we must endure such vicious attacks and madness during our stay here on earth. I know that You are coming soon, and that we must be ready. We must be vigilant in our minds, and stay alert to all possible threats that will, undoubtedly come our way. We can see for ourselves, by just reading the newspaper in the morning, all of the monstrous acts that man perpetrates against another. It is heartbreaking and yet, we have to understand that we were completely warned of this in Your word. We know that as bad as this is….that it will only get worst before Your return.

I have to try to balance my understanding that You are my children’s safety net, against my fleshly worry for what this world has in store for them. I know that it is my job to make them aware of what will await them when they leave the protected nest of their home. I want them to  know that prayers are always heard, and that You will never leave them, no matter what. I do not want my children, or myself, to ever live  in fear. I want to live my life with great enthusiasm for a brighter future. I know that with the darkness that they enemy is using to subdue us into sin, that You also balance our lives with a light that brings joy and happiness. I can face tomorrow because I know You live today. I know that You died a horrific death, being nailed to a wooden cross. I know that they savagely beat You, and tortured You until You drew Your final breathe. It is unconscionable to believe that today we still live among those same type of men, who also murder the innocent. I cry for them and pray for their families now. Give them a peace that passes understanding and show them the hope that comes with accepting Your greatest gift- –Salvation.

I pray for the ability to thwart the killer of mankind, and bring light into the darkest alley of man’s soul,
