Dear God, Day 6

garden of edenDear God,

My heart is hurting so badly right now. I am having trouble understanding the circumstances behind the little bundle of life, that we call “Tyson.”  He appeared to come so far and baffle doctors with his ability to persevere in the midst of chemotherapy. While watching his little body transform  so rapidly from a small framed child, into the adorably chubby bundle of joy, made me think that this was just a small sacrifice to meet the ends of justification for treatments.

Of all of Your magnificent creations, it is my humble opinion that perhaps Your favorite day of creation, would have been on Day 6. With a completely new world to form and to shape and mold into the perfect habitat for mankind, you made every detail exquisite. But after 5 days of masterful work, You still knew that something was missing. That something was Man. For who would enjoy and delight in the abundant colors of our earth. The thousands of different fragrances that fill the air when flowers blossom. To see the blue water ripple and be amazed as teems of fish float in their new habitat.

To understand that everything was spoken into existence, simply by the words of Your tongue is fascinating. If this be the reason why scientist question creationism, then they have yet to understand a love that is indescribable. For no one can truly believe that each insect, each tree, each marine animal, each bird, each flower, were simply here by its own natural design. But, unfortunately, there are many who are contrary to You, and Your magnificence. I shall never falter in my belief that You are the Lord of Lords and Creator of the entire Universe!

In Genesis 1:26, Your word tells us, “Then God said, “Let us make man in our own image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, and over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”   Verse 27: “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him, male and female he created them”.  You blessed them and told them to increase in number and fill the earth and subdue it. You allowed man to rule of the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the earth.

Genesis 1:31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning- The 6th day.    Genesis 2:1   “Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array.

God, Your love for all things new is intoxicating. You love every creation and yet today we see many worshiping the creations–but absent of the Creator. If we are to understand how life is meant to be lived and enjoyed, then we must see the Creator of the universe. I am understanding of those who want to see our earth retain it’s natural resources, but man must first recall who initiated these valuable resource into existence, simply by speaking them with the words of His own tongue. As much as You love the beauty of all things on our planet Earth, It was ultimately, mankind for whom You loved, lived for, and died on the cross for. I believe that nothing else matters to You, as much as Your creation of man and our souls eternal future.

You separated the darkness from the light. You separated dry lands from the seas. You created the  birds of the air, and the expanse of the tree’s that are alive and provide for our nourishment, as well as protection for the animals that crawl, creep, or fly upon this earth. Your masterful plan is that of love and a precise balance that must work together in order for human life to sustain itself by Your will. Every breath that I take is a blessed assurance that You are my creator, and how blessed I am to have a life that is redeemed by my heavenly Father. If man takes over 17,500 breaths a day—and it is incumbant upon our hearts beating properly, our lungs functioning adequately, and our brains sending the correct electronic pulses to run a body that sustains life, then how could anyone disagree that only God himself, is the designer of our lives.

With all of the beauty that was within the garden of Eden and the creatures that filled its footing, You still desired something more. You desired to have someone in Your own image. Someone who would choose to love You and honor You. I believe that You fully understood that man would sin against You. Yet, You allowed the creation and the pro-creation of life to continue. Your desire for man and Your love for mans’ heart was a far greater gift, then the absence of it. I could never find myself able to write about my experiences of my own faith, if it weren’t for that same gift that You have given to me. I am so completely humbled that You would save a sinner like me. I have struggled to do the right things in life, but failed on many occasions. I often speak before–I think. I have been inpatient, and unhappy. I have to remember to find joy in ALL things. For there is nothing of this world that man can not handle, if we cling to You and Your words of the bible.

Jesus, I offer up great thanksgiving to You now. I dedicate my life and my future only to You. I want to win souls for the harvest, that is quickly upon us. I want to show You that my faith, is greater than the mustard seed. I want to sow and I want to reap. I want to live and I want to try to be the living testimony of my Father’s love. Help me, Lord, to come to you and always remember that on the 6th day of creation, Your decision was a perfect plan. That even though man failed and sinned against You, that You still found a way to redeem us back into Your merciful arms.

I thank You for all of the beauty that surrounds us daily. I can look out my kitchen window and see the glorious fall colors that fill the autumn trees. I can see birds and squirrels, and flowers still in bloom. I am so grateful for each esthetic detail that You allow for our enjoyment.

But, none can compare to the gift that was given on the 6th Day. It is because of this day that flesh was formed from the dust of the earth. That Your holiness breathed life into Adam. That Your love became a living, and breathing human being…….This was the day that I will thank You for first, when we meet in heaven.

Five days of beauty–led to Day 6 of man’s birth–and the 7th well rested, creating Your worth,

Gina
